Digital Marketing Case Study

The Problem

Charlene Redwine, a local Denver artist, wasn’t getting the visibility she wanted on her illustrations. She wanted to start soft launching her products at local markets around Denver without spending too much on initial set up fees, and also wanted to build her Instagram following.

The Plan

I partnered together with Charlene and created a social media plan that included a steady cadence of posts showcasing her illustration content. I also drafted a newsletter schedule and began an email marketing campaign to local vendors and coffee shops with pop ups.

The Process

Over the course of six months, Charlene’s follower count on Instagram grew by 55%. She was featured at five pop ups throughout Denver, increasing revenue and visibility. After sending several newsletters to subscribers obtained through social media, referrals, and in-person events, open rates landed around 45% - 60%.

Charlene increased her visibility on products throughout the city of Denver, resulting in her continuing to build an engaged client base. Charlene’s focus will be shifting fully to her illustration business in the coming year, meaning more time will be spent illustrating new pieces to sell online and at in-person pop ups. Looking at data from the past six months will shape the communication pieces like emails, newsletters, and social media posts moving forward, making them more effective and catered to Charlene’s target audience.
