01 — Project details

In April of 2023, CodeHS partnered with the Indiana Department of Education to deliver free professional development to teachers. Our goal was to gain at least 50 sign-ups within the first month through social media, blog, and email marketing efforts. We ended up having less than 2 weeks (9 days!) to market the upcoming events and reach our goal.

02 — Marketing plan

I planned to reach out to any and every Indiana contact I had. I got in touch with several professional development organizations and sent them some sample copy and tweets they could share with their own audiences. I also created an email marketing campaign for current Indiana teachers and drafted a blog announcing these free courses.

We managed to get more than 90 registrations within a week of marketing. Through reaching out to professional organizations, posting to our social media, and utilizing email marketing campaigns, we almost doubled our inital goal. Throughout 2023, we continued partnering with the Indiana State Department of Education and continued the partnership into 2024.
